Best Desserts in Vegas
Delight your sweet tooth beyond measure on Finger Licking Foodie Tour’s “Best Desserts in Vegas’’ extravaganza, Sunday, April 2.
This sugary jaunt to four of the city’s top restaurants is its latest focused food tour that takes a deep dive into a singular cuisine, food tradition or culinary theme. This three-hour tour, which begins at 4:30 p.m., comes complete with immediate seating at each venue to indulge in one or two decadent desserts at each venue, complete with VIP service.
The tour starts at the gilded Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris resort to enjoy the celebrated British chef’s take on the iconic sticky toffee pudding, served warm and garnished with brown sugar toffee, and brown butter ice cream. With the beverage package, enjoy a pairing of Kracher Beerenauslese Cuvee Burgenland, an Austrian dessert wine with notes of peach and quince that boasts a spicy finish.
Next, it’s on to Spago by Wolfgang Puck at the Bellagio Hotel to spoon into a cloudlike dark chocolate souffle finished with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. If that wasn’t enough, there’s a second dessert of “Spiked Lemon,’’ a chiffon cake adorned with citrus mousse, and cream infused with yuzu, the intoxicatingly floral Japanese citrus. The beverage-package pick perks everything up with an espresso martini.
Then, it’s on to Mastro’s Ocean Club at The Shops at Crystals for its famed finale, its signature warm butter cake. Can it get any better than warm, rich butter pound cake filled with sweet cream cheese, then crowned with vanilla bean ice cream, raspberry sauce, orange supremes, diced strawberries, and a fluff of whipped cream? Choose the beverage package, and you’re in for a drink and a show with the Dry Ice Lemon Drop Martini, a blend of lemon-infused vodka, Cointreau, and sour that arrives at the table in a dramatic fog.
Afterward, hop aboard our complimentary shuttle to Chica at the Venetian for two true treats with heat – in two different forms. First, enjoy “The Corn,’’ a sweet-spicy sensation that features a strawberry flan cheesecake with graham cracker chili crumble and raspberry tajin. Then, get ready as Corporate Executive Pastry Chef Jessica Scott presents “The Flaming Skull,’’ a warm lava cake with horchata ice cream, fresh fruit, and corn marshmallows that she’ll set aflame in front of your eyes. The beverage package’s specialty drink is fun and potent – the “Churro Shot,’’ a Mexican and Spanish coffee drink of Jaja Reposado, Amaretto, espresso, and Licor 43 served on ice with a cinnamon sugar rim.
The tour is limited to the first 50 registered guests. Price is $175 per person, which includes all gratuities, as well as the gift of a highlight video afterward. An optional $75 beverage package is available, which provides for a pre-selected special cocktail chosen especially to highlight the signature desserts.
